Stories Nature Tells

Stories Nature Tells is a photo story series that weaves together my art of photography and writing with reminders that we are one with nature. This is both art and activism that calls for decolonization and environmental protection.

My art is inextricably linked to nature because art is an expression and manifestation of self and I believe that we are interconnected with (and thus one with) nature. Art is also an expression and manifestation of the universe. Being in relationship to nature means being in relationship to myself and everything on this planet (and beyond). This connection has gifted me with a space to be my most authentic self, lessons that create ripples through my mind of messages of interconnectedness, as well as the inspiration to photograph the magic of the nature around me.

It was the inspiration from my relationship to nature, as well as the photographs and stories that were created from that inspiration, that the anthology series “Stories Nature Tells” was made. I created Volume 1 in November of 2025 and first shared it publicly in February 2026. This is one way my photography and writing combine in my storytelling. The series is rooted in bringing free art and justice resources to the community.
